Are the days getting shorter?

I don't think that daylight savings time has hit yet, correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like the days are already getting shorter. I barely have time to breathe anymore. From the time we get up, till the kids go to bed it's go go go go. Grocery shopping, Halloween costume buying, laundry, cleaning, cooking, bathing, the never ending chore list. It doesn't stop or take a break it just recycles itself into another day. The good thing about that is if i don't get something done today, it will still be here tomorrow.

We had another issue arise with this house this week. The bath tub isn't draining right, so if someone wants to take a shower, they are usually mid calf in their own bath water. Which isn't exactly a good way to get clean. It makes it a lot harder for the kids to take a bath together or otherwise, but I'm thinking I should be able to have it fixed this week. A whole bottle of DRAINO surely didn't work.

Hubby should be starting a new job this week, cross your fingers for me and him. I'm hoping so for the state of both of our mental healths. We get along great most of the time, but when he's home all the time, it's harder to get along. Sure he is able to help out with the kids and around the house, but ability does not equal him doing anything.

The kids and I raked up all the leaves today, we had a lot of fun jumping in the leaves, piling them up and re-raking them. The kids burned off some major energy outside tonight so it wasn't a big fight to get them to go to bed. Well that and hubby brought them back McDonald's for supper, so they ate late and went to sleep.

Wednesdays EPT was negative, go figure!!! I've been getting a lot more done around the house, and haven't been spending much time on my laptop. Tomorrow I have to take big sister to school, to ask about her field trip, like um why haven't i gotten a permission slip? Also she has a pumpkin she has to take, and I'm not sending it on the bus.

Here's to another week of never ending stuff.

Ups and Downs

There are so many ups and downs in life, moving into this house for me was a huge "up". Moving anywhere would have been a huge up, but this house with room and space and a yard and not too many neighbors in a great school district, it put me at an all time high. I was and still am elated about this house and the opportunities it has brought my family.

The down is that Hubby and I got into quite an argument last night. It lead to me staying up until 4 am, then falling asleep until 11am, and not getting up to take Big Sister to the bus or to school. When I woke up I felt horrible, not only that I had fought with Hubby but that I'd failed Big Sister, she loves school, and today she didn't go because I was lazy. This will never happen again. Even if I fight with Hubby, I still have to be a good mom to my kids.

Tomorrow is another Wednesday, and another EPT that will likely come up negative. Another down. Pregnancy would be a very welcome thing right now. Hubby already has Little Brother saying baby and pointing to my tummy, I just wish that it was true. I know having another baby won't make us stop fighting, it might even make us fight more, but I really want another baby.

Tomorrow I will not blog, well maybe, if my pregnancy test comes up positive I will. I want to spend the day just relaxing with the kids and Hubby. Maybe a shopping trip is in order. Something other that sleeping in and sitting here all day on the computer.

As always thanks for reading,

Another Long Weekend has come to an end!!!

I didn't think this weekend was ever going to end. I hoped it wouldn't, but like all good things, they have to have an ending. On the weekends I become uber lazy...staying in bed until almost noon...hanging out with the hubby for a couple of hours, and then he goes to bed for the afternoon. How I love sleeping in, knowing the kids are staying extra quiet because mommy needs a rest.

We babysat my moms dog over the long weekend, and my dog and cat became instant friends. If your friends chase you then lick you repeatedly. They all cuddled up on the couch at night and when it was bedtime they all climbed under the bed. Leave out a couple of new location potty mishaps, and it was an excellent weekend.

We also had some of hubby slackers friends over for a cookout, that was.....interesting. We had six kids under the age of 5 here. We decided to make the fourth bedroom a playroom for right now. Hopefully eventually it will be Little Brothers room if we EVER get pregnant. The big five kids ( ages 5, 5, 3, 2, and 2) played upstairs with toys, chased the animals, and played outside in the backyard. I spent a great deal of time playing with the 7 month old baby. Hubby even held the baby.

Tomorrow begins another school week for Big Sister, so I will be back to getting up at 7am. Hubby wants to go into the city on Wednesday, but other than that, it looks like another week of nothing much going on.

Time for Bed,

Get on With it Already

I am so not a patient person...actually I'm probably the most impatient person I know. I want to be pregnant...we have been very diligent with our trying...sometimes I worry I may be pressuring slacker hubby too much. Luckily hubby's libido is much higher than mine. I had a bit of spotting this morning, but I'm crossing my fingers that it's implantation bleeding and not the beginning of my period.

The other thing I'm impatient about is Hubby Slacker going back to work. He has been laid-off for going on two months. At first it was great, I had missed him with him working usually 70 hours a week. Now he never leaves without me. The furthest he has gone without me is to the garage, and that is only for usually twenty minutes at a time. I also no longer have time without my kids. Though I love them more than anything else, a mom needs alone time. I'm looking forward to not having him over my shoulder every second of every day. Asking what I'm writing, why I'm laughing...or trying to counter every parenting move he makes. The sisters don't fare as well with Daddy at home, there are two parents to keep an eye on them, and hubby is more uptight about them messing with things than I am. I figure as long as they aren't breaking things or beating the crap out of each other, then they are fine. Brother is as always hands on...E V E R Y T H I N G. The two year old in him is driving mommy crazy.

We are all enjoying the new house, the new space, and the new school. Big Sister is doing well in kindergarten. Now if she could just figure out which direction to go when she gets off the bus. For the last two days she has walked the wrong way, almost half a block and I've had to chase her to get her in the right direction. I know she has to learn, but me running down the street is not conducive to my lazy mom lifestyle. More after the busy busy weekend. Mommy Lazy

Day one of limited connectivity

This has been my first day of my new rules for myself. I am not trying to change too many things at once, and the biggest issue I have is my computer addiction. This morning I got up and woke up big sister for school, and helped her get ready. I did not get on the Internet, didn't even read the newspaper online. I actually helped her put her clothes on, fixed her hair, and watched her brush her teeth. This is different than the previous mornings because usually I just wake her up, and tell her to get ready.

After taking big sister to school, I came home, sat down with the little monkeys and for the first time in MONTHS, they had cereal for breakfast. Not a single pop-tart in sight. After washing cereal bowls and spoons and a quick clean up of the kiddie table, we went to the living room to turn on cartoons. The little monkeys enjoyed Clifford and Sesame Street while mommy had her 1 hour of computer time.

After Sesame street was over we decided to read a book. Go figure we read a Clifford book. We all pitched in to pick up some toys, and then I vacuumed the house. Little sister decided she wanted pink-cracker soup for lunch. So I made pink-cracker soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. While the kids were eating I washed the pans for soup and grilled cheese and swept the kitchen floor. Then I used the Clorox wet mop to clean the soupie spills.

During nap-time I got back on the Internet. A quick check of my mail and frequent websites and that was it. I watched TV until it was time to get big sister from school. Woke up the kiddos and we were off. The little one's played on the school playground until their big sister came outside. We stopped at the grocery store for some spaghetti supplies and went home.

All the monkeys came into the kitchen to help me make spaghetti with meatballs, salad, and garlic bread. I cut up some pears and they had a snack while I got everything ready. Big sister and little sister helped mix the ingredients for meatballs while super boy picked up all the little tiny things off the floor, tortured the dog, stood on the table, etc.

After the meatballs were cooking I cut the loaf of french bread and buttered it. I also filled up the pot for spaghetti with water and started the pan with the sauce. I opened all the little cans and the sisters took turns pouring in ingredients, then they sprinkled the garlic powder on the bread. We took turns stirring the pans and checking on the meatballs.

Dinner was FABULOUS!!! The kids really liked eating something they helped create. It was very tasty and everyone ate until they were full. After dinner I washed the dishes (I NEVER DO THIS RIGHT AFTER DINNER), then put little sister and brother in the bathtub. Big sister takes showers by herself. After bath-time we sat down and watched TV with Hubby Slacker until it was bedtime. A bed-time snack and the little monkeys were off to dream land.

With the house clean, kids clean, and sleeping monkeys I opened back up the laptop. I was only online for about 20 minutes, then I went to take a shower, and went to bed super early.

It was a great day. I spent lots of time with the kids, they liked it and I loved it!

More another time!

P.S. If you absolutely LOVE tomato Soup, but your little one's hate tomato's, I recommend changing the name of the soup to pink cracker soup. They love pink cracker soup, but if I slip up and say tomato I'm in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!
